We live in San Francisco, and planning to move. I was wondering is there a safe school district out there in California for incoming highschool kid? Is there also a website for me to check out the rating of schools all around california? Thanks alot!

My personal favorite for school ratings is Great Schools: http://www.greatschools.net/ You can find a lot of information about a school on that website ranging from ethnicities, test scores, AP classes offered, etc. I'll name some great ones I've heard of: Arcadia Unified School District Palos Verdes Peninsula School District ABC Unified School District (the thing about ABC is that only the schools in the Cerritos section of the district are superb. The other schools are mediocre or generally below the Cerritos schools.)

Exceptions may be charter schools, but you need to look into them because some are not very good. Top school districts include: San Marino La Canada South Pasadena Glendale Manhattan Beach But, some top public schools are not a good match for kids who aren't super academic. While the top public schools are a good notch below the top private schools academically, they can still be very competitive and not very supportive for kids who aren't academically inclined. Speak to parents before moving into a school district to get the info. Good luck!
